We Got Creamed !
Server Failure
May 5, 2010 - At least the timing didn't disturb the end of the hockey season... but BASEBALL from the Chicago area is here. Our main presentation server crashed a couple of weeks ago, taking well over 100 different hosted web sites with it. As we were not in a streaming schedule at the time we put this site and a few others at the back of the que for rebuilding. Check back frequently, as we are going to be streaming some Chicago area summer leagues.
Do YOU Need A Streaming Channel?
Very soon we will be offering access to our streaming network to amateur and non-league and activities at very reasonable rates. Many of you have inquired about the complexity and cost of streaming live events. We could give an involved and complex answer, but simply put - it's not that difficult and we can show you how to make it inexpensive.
Maybe you are part of a high school sports booster club, or you have a small boxing tournament or other event to promote. Streaming live video might be the way to create some buzz and get things rolling. The most important element is a quick, reliable, connection to the Internet. We don't mean a wireless card plugged into your laptop. We have already found out that doesn't work unless you want to spend a LOT of money hauling around a multi-channel environment. When we say reliable we mean access to a hard wire point on a network that can set aside a bandwidth area for an uplink speed of at least 450 Kbs.
Buffering? Sputtering
For those that are watching a live feed. If the show seems to stop in mid-frame or 'sputters', we suggest you press the f5 function key. This re-connects to the stream and may clear the problem. We also suggest before any video feed that you reboot your computer and shut off any unnecessary programs before you connect. Even the fastest computers are prone to problems if too much RAM is reserved for programs that are running on your task bar, but not in use.
Is Your Browser Current?
Many first time viewers report difficulties seeing the feed. It's easy to say it is a problem on the uplink end, but we do ask that you ensure your browser is fully updated before you get your ticket. Go to
Races On The Web and look for the small viewer window ... if you can't see that reliably you have a problem with your browser. Firefox users - there is a new update available
